Creating 'Aracecardriver' for NASCAR

CCR, creating ‘Aracecardriver’ for NASCAR!

The CCR “Aracecardriver” Driver development program is a fully focused fast-track driver development platform that is designed to work 1-on-1 with race car drivers of all ability levels, with the aim of making them into well rounded and stable fixtures in the sport of NASCAR.

The leading 3 NASCAR divisions have more paid professional drivers participating weekly than any other form of racing on the planet, and when compared with other leading classes such as Formula 1 or Indy, the ‘CCR’ approach offers sensibly funded drivers a clearly defined path to becoming one of those drivers, whether they end up in Camping World Trucks, Nationwide, Sprint Cup or a combination thereof. Each is also televised nationally and 'live' to millions of viewers in the US and worldwide.

The process we have in place works as follows:

Each individual driver is asked to complete a NASCAR approval form which is based on their racing CV / Resume / Palmares and send that back to CCR. We then present this to NASCAR’s approval board and agree on a level where the driver can start, and reach approval for. Typically for a driver with GT or Indy Lights experience he/she might be approved for half mile K&N Pro Series and maybe Nationwide on a road course. Depending on their rate of improvement they would complete a number of races and then we would re-submit their status to NASCAR for greater approval, and so on.

Outside of the race car training will be available to each driver to work on their media and marketing skills. During their time with CCR they may be asked to speak for team partners at important engagements, and certainly take part in a number of television interviews. Also we work on their demeanor and presentation to make them fully marketable to race fans and new sponsors alike.

Overall, depending on the driver’s ability and comfort level they can progress in fairly short order from the K&N category for example, and into Trucks or Nationwide (short track) as the next step, and before they know it they are attempting to qualify in front of the largest crowds in motor racing in the US, and with the possibility to make NASCAR a very rewarding racing career!

Drivers who possess racing experience and willingness to progress on a defined route in racing are welcome to contact us for more details. CCR can plan a program of races that take you from stage to stage without wasting time or money dwelling for too long in the lower categories. Based on your willingness to have an open mind, your funding and availability, your skill behind the wheel and speed of learning, and your comfort level of progression, in many cases you can go from ie.K&N Pro Series to racing in the Sprint Cup in 2-3 seasons.

Coached and mentored by Derrike Cope you will be driving CCR prepared machines all of the way. Our reward and satisfaction comes from such successes, and seeing you even get selected by the likes of Gibbs, RCR, Roush or Hendrick along the way!

To begin we prefer to do a 2 day intensive evaluation that involves you driving our K&N Pro Series 'test car' that is equipped with MoTec data acquisition. Every lap in the car you are coached, and we take regular breaks for briefings and to allow you to interpret your understanding and feedback. By the end of day 2 we aim for you to be a somewhat proficient driver of a stock car, with a greater understanding of how to drive these cars and how to give feedback. There are no onboard computers or live data feed on any NASCAR race car so you as the driver become to a degree the engineer, and your understanding of the car, and feedback is therefore vital.

Following the completion of the evaluation we give you video footage of your test, and data files from your laps completed and changes made to the car. Based on the outcome of the 2 days we would then recommend the next steps of the program, which would probably involve more testing and then a defined plan of races, aimed at improving your approval status and fast-tracking you to the next level.

In some cases, more experienced drivers who have competed in the likes of F1, Indycar abd LMP1 sportscars with significant results, may gain a higher approval status to begin with and can therefore potentially move straight into Nationwide or Trucks, but they would still be limited to shorter track ovals and road courses. It would also be advisable for them to test extensively and perhaps take in a few K&N races to learn the NASCAR racecraft.
