About Derrike Cope

Derrike Cope, the “1990 Daytona 500 Winner” has over 500 NASCAR career starts and has been a stable fixture in this business since 1988. He is an accomplished spokesperson and television personality, and has represented some very prominent fortune 500 companies such as M&M Mars, Sara Lee, Wyeth Corporation,Southland Corporation, Pennzoil Corporation…and Purolator Products just to name a few.

A consummate professional both on and off the track, Derrike is one of the most respected drivers in the sport of NASCAR. He possesses proficient speaking skills, this coupled with his personality delights audiences wherever he goes. Derrike remains a regular in the 2011/12 NASCAR Nationwide field driving the #28 Maxelence Chevrolet and Dodge entries as well as limited outings in the Sprint Cup and it is his goal to pass on his depth of experience and knowledge to the sport’s talented drivers and mentor them to become professionals in the sport. Doing just this brings him ultimate satisfaction.

Statistics-wise Derrike will end this season having racked up 667 NASCAR race starts in his career. Divided up, that is 409 in Sprint Cup, 198 in Nationwide, 15 in Camping World trucks 49 in the K&N West Series. As of Nov 5 2011 at Texas Nationwide race he has completed 134,705 actual race laps and has lead 1262 of those laps in all series. He has won races in every division of Nascar in which he has competed.
